My boot camp is private, so you can focus on your workout in the right environment.
I will motivate you with positive feedback and humor.
At my boot camp, you will experience the support of a group reminding you that you are not in this alone. You will push each other to do your best for the day.
Instead of boring cardio, and daunting weights, we use unique exercises and fat burning intervals to sculpt you in to a lean and tone machine.

About The Workout
This butt-kicking boot camp style workout is a combination of high-intensity fat shredding cardio intervals with body shaping exercises for developing a slim, lean, and toned body.
Each workout is designed to burn over 1,000 calories in just one hour.
In addition to being great for shaping up, we also emphasize flexibility, building strong joints, and the overall principles of healthy lifestyle.
The workouts are challenging so get ready to sweat. Each workout includes 30 minutes of high intensity fat shredding cardio, and 30 minutes of fast paced strength training. Each day focuses on a unique routine for a different part of the body.
This style of workout is the result of 10 years of research and development. It is the only workout around with this kind of proven results.
Instead of heavy weight training with high risk of joint injury and boredom, we use bands, free weights, and your own body weight. The results are quickly noticeable which makes our boot camp the most popular in the Minneapolis area.

The gym has men's and women's locker rooms with showers.
There is plenty of parking and street parking is free before 8:00 AM and after 6:00 PM.

I like the cardio intervals because as a model I can’t afford to bulk up. James has unique exercises you won’t find anywhere else that are geared just for women’s body types. I like to try every workout like pure barre, yoga, spin, pilates, etc. but I feel like I get the results of all of these combined with just James workouts.
Before James Fitness, I suffered from PMDD. Immediately I noticed a drastic change in my mood. Now I hardly notice my PMS, and I don’t want to shoot myself in the head every month. The workouts go by super quick because he’s young, cute and funny. A lot of other trainers are creepy, but James is super fly. I’m addicted.
For the vast majority of my life I have been in excellent shape. However, in 1996, after a 6 period of service in the US Marine Corps, I fell off the “health wagon.” As I started my 1st business I fell into a pattern of eating fast food and no exercise and by 1998 I had ballooned from 165 pounds to over 210 pounds. At the beginning of 2006 I had had enough of being fat and attempted to start shedding the pounds with very limited success. Still over 200 pounds I turned to James Fitness to help guide me back to physical health. With a regimen of exercise and better diet guided by James’ expertise I was able to drop from my weight (over 200 pounds) to 155 pounds with muscle definition like I have never had in my life. At 39 I am now active and participating in competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and stronger than I have ever been in my life. Thanks James!
My name is John Ashrafian. I joined James Fitness because my wife and I recently found out that we are pregnant with our first child. My goal is to be healthy and in the best shape of my life, by the time the baby arrives. I want to be energetic to help raise our child as opposed to being lethargic. When I first started the 10-week body challenge I was both excited and nervous. It was the start of a serious life change for me. Eating right, exercise and personal commitment I think are some of the hardest things in life. This program helped shape and mold my life. Jennifer, PJ and yourself besides being awesome at what you do are real people who generally cared about each of the people in the program. The commitment you showed to all of us, kept us going and striving to achieve greater results.
My goal when I started the program was to be able to take my shirt off at the beach and be proud of what was underneath. I achieved that! I take my shirt off now with great pride knowing my hard work has paid off! I am motivated and looking forward to the next challenge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will The Workouts Be Too Advanced or Intense?
I get new clients who are beginners every week. You will be fine and I usually ask first timers to go at their own pace and rest when needed. Everyone struggles to keep up with the pace the first 1-2 days, but you will not be asked to do more than you are capable of. Fitness is a lifestyle built on consistency, not a one day transformation.
Is The Price Going To Stay At $9?
Yes. This is my normal ongoing rate. I do my best to provide the best workouts in Minneapolis at the lowest possible price.
I've Been To Crowded Bootcamps Before That Lacked Focus So How Many People Are In Each Class?
Each workout caps at 10 even though the space can comfortably handle 20.
I set myself apart from other boot camps or group workouts by training less clients per class with more focus, attention to detail, and an individualized follow up including nutritional coaching, result tracking, and plenty of time before and after each workout to answer questions and chat.
Where Do I Park?
There is a parking structure on 6th street right across from the gym. There is also street metered parking on 4th avenue right out front. The meters require payment from 8am - 6pm but be sure to check. I know venturing downtown can be questionable if you are used to the suburbs. Some of my clients are from Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Bloomington, and other suburbs and they say the workout is worth the drive and that parking is great!
Is There A Changing Room?
Yes. There gym does have a changing room, bathrooms, and showers. Inside of the workout space we have storage lockers so you can bring a purse or something. If it is snowing or raining outside, please bring your clean gym shoes and wear another pair of shoes to the gym.
